Erewhon becomes a Certified Organic Retailer! This was a huge accomplishment considering very few retailers hold this certification.
Erewhon opens its eighth location, located in the heart of the Golden Triangle in Beverly Hills.
Erewhon opens its seventh location, and first in the Valley, located at the Sportstman Lodge in Studio City. The communal space features a bright open-air courtyard that connects a variety of retail shops, restaurants and wellness centers.

Erewhon opens its sixth location, and first on the East Side, in Silver Lake!
Erewhon celebrates their 50 year anniversary with the opening of the Santa Monica location! The beautiful standalone build received an Award of Excellence from the Los Angeles Business Council Architectural Awards.
Erewhons opens its first store on the Westside, in the heart of Venice!
Erewhon expands for the first time with the opening of its Calabasas location!
The start of what Erewhon is today. Tony and Josephine Antoci purchase Erewhon's only location on Beverly Boulevard and begin to transform the business.
Aveline Kushi moves to Los Angeles and Erewhon West opens in Los Angeles at 8001 Beverly Blvd. The Kushis build Erewhon upon a core idea that still animates everything that we do today: If we fill our bodies with the very best that Earth has to offer, we can become our best selves.
Inspired by the Macrobiotic Creed, Erewhon founders Michio and Aveline Kushi charter the natural foods scene by selling macrobiotic and organic foods out of a 10’ x 20’ stall below street-level in Boston. Erewhon is the first store of its kind in America and it soon serves as a model for many other similar natural food stores across the nation.
